    Perfect replacement for my 7.4L Merc

    I wanted a spare carb to swap out when I need to have a carb rebuilt. These days parts for old carbs are becoming more difficult to find and I was happy to find a cost effective alternative. I installed it within 15 minutes and she fired up right out of the box with no adjustments needed. It even had an upgraded electric choke to replace the old style spring version. I've read some articles that the chrome plating is not as corrosion proof as other types of coatings; I suppose time will tell. In the meantime, I am quite satisfied with the results.

    Seems good so far

    I was gonna go with a holley but this one i could maintain stock linkage and if seems to work real good with my 88 Renken Spitfire with a .30 over 5.7 mercruiser and summit racing vortec heads and lunati cam. Only issue the brass fuel fitting was stripped out of the box, I thought the carb was at first but turned out just to be the fitting.

    A good and easy induction solution for older, non fuel injected marine engines.

    A simple, reliable, proven design that is easy to install and maintain. Edelbrock has always been a customer focused company that has a good support system. Their marine carburetors perform well and provide an option to other very expensive choices from the marine specialty companies.

    Perfect Plug and Play replacement carb

    This Edelbrock was essentially the same as the Carter it replaced. It bolted on and worked perfectly out of the box, no additional tuning required. The boat runs flawlessly.

    No smoking mirrors

    Boat ran rough. Put on carb and fired on second try (needed gas thru the carb). Ran smooth. Used to burn so rich it made you cry at an idle from the fumes. No more!!! Tuned in less than two minutes. Boat runs awesome just in time for summer.
