    I bought this copy for a friend who wants to get clean. If you are an addict who wants to recover, this book is the best out there. By following the suggestions given in the book l have stayed clean for many years. This book has given me a design for living clean and sober that works.

    It works if you work it.

    If you have a problem with addiction, whether it be to food, gambling, drugs (and alcohol is a drug), spending money, sex, or anything else, this book will help you get over your problem, if you do a few simple steps, twelve steps. It's not easy, but it is possible. Thousands like me have gotten better, a day at a time, with info from this book and others with similar circumstances gathering together for mutual support.     This edition carries on a tradition of experience, strength, & hope!

    This Sixth Edition has pulled together experience, strength, & hope of people in recovery from around the world. The stories contained in this edition were written from the heart. No one can understand addiction unless they've lived through it. This is an excellent book called the Basic Text.
