LucasArts' Dark Forces 3D action-adventure series continues with this release of Jedi Outcast: Jedi Knight II. The game's title refers to its hero, a fallen Jedi named Katarn. Though he no longer enjoys his Jedi status, Katarn remains one with the force and has learned to make good use his special powers. As in earlier Dark Forces and Jedi Knight titles, combat is a major aspect of gameplay in this release. Players can employ an extensive arsenal of attack moves with the light saber and a fully loaded blaster takes out Stormtroopers and other enemies from a distance. The game runs on a modified version of the Quake III engine and creates fitting atmospheres with naturally curved surfaces and state-of-the-art lighting effects.

Arrived quickly in original case. Disc was dirty and scratched. After I cleaned it, the game played without any interruptions. Very fun story with great FPS combat and 3rd person lightsaber combat. Would recommend to any StarWars fan.

One of my favorite games
One of the reasons that I love this game is due to the analogue control of the light saber. It makes for a very natural feel while attacking others. Nothing is more fun than being able to run past someone while holding your light saber out to kill them. The multiplayer section of the game is loads of fun to chase each other around with force jump and other force powers. I've had hours of good game time competing or collaborating with friends on the many multiplayer maps. The unlockable characters make for an added bonus to completing levels and the game itself. By the end, there are a ton of players you can choose in multiplayer maps (not to mention quite a few unlocked multiplayer maps). The open ended leveling system is pretty good. The only reasons that I didn't grade this game as excellent are the last gen graphics (that can't really be helped but still weighs in my rating) and slight improvements that I would make on interface and leveling.

Set the way back machine to when Star Wars Jedi Outcast was a relatively new release and I was still somewhat of a PC gamer before I knew I was a gamer period and you'll find me begging my mom for a Star Wars game. This is ultimately the game that ensued and now let's fast forward to the present day when I started collecting games I played when I was younger. Being now a devoted console gamer I picked up a Gamecube copy and sat down to take a spin down memory lane. The game is about what I remember. You start out as a former Jedi agent for the now no-longer-rebel, post Return of the Jedi government. You start out first person shooting for the first few levels until you face a Sith lizard and realize you're going to have to dust off your old light saber. After that you can switch between ... Just as a side note this game is running off an early unreal engine for those that know what it is. This is one game that any Star Wars fan will probably like. For the rest it is adequate but in all honesty you can probably take it or leave it.
