The Wiz, (VHS, DVD)
I decided to buy this item, the Wiz starring Michael Jackson and Diana Ross, because I lost the one I had previously and I needed another. I had time to buy. So I ordered a VHS and the DVD. The Wiz is a version of The Wizard of Oz, starring Judy Garland, but in a soul style setting with an all black cast. I love the Wizard of Oz and I Love the Wiz too. Many refer to the Wiz as the black version of The Wizard of Oz. It's good to watch both movies, because it shows how a movie can be displayed in another ethnic style and setting.I decided to buy this item, the Wiz starring Michael Jackson and Diana Ross, because I lost the one I had previously and I needed another. I love how Dorothy (Diana Ross) is caught in a snow twister in New York City. The twister is miniscule in "Glinda's" hands in which she sends "Dorothy" into "OZ". I love that scene, It's magic keeps me rewinding. I also get a kick out of the disco style lion and his groovy theme. When you watch this pay close attention to all of them as they travel down the famous "yellow brick road" it is hilarious to watch little "toto" chase after them. Music is a bonus too. THIS WAS A GOOD MOVIE I THOUGHT, IT HAD SOME SIMULARITIES TO THE "WIZARD OF OZ", BUT MOST OF IT WAS ORIGINAL. I GUESS THAT'S THE BEST PART I LIKED ABOUT IT. ALL THE DANCING AND MUSIC WAS ENERGETIC, COLORFUL, AND MAGICAL. IT TAKES PLACE IN A NEW YORK SETTING. IT DOES GIVE YOU A GOOD MESSAGE. YOU CAN DO AND BE ANYONE YOU WANT TO BE NO MATTER WHERE YOU COME FROM.
