I then looked up on the net for hints of how to get rid of this smell and flavour taint, it took two overnight soakings in a mixture of Sodium bicarbonate and lemon juice solution to achieve this. You really have to follow the recipes exactly and use the Ball commercial Pectin powder etc but if you do the results OK
