Serious toy for people who play seriously
I bought this to replace a TU-2 which broke. I was annoyed about that, because it was practically brand new, I'd only had it for... 18 years? My bad, I wore it out, I play several times a week, it earned its keep. R.I.P. TU-2, long live TU-3. It's the same robust case as the rest of the Boss pedals, and it is the all-important mute pedal onstage; but it's much better as a tuner than its predecessor. I play guitar, bass guitar, acoustic bass guitar and double bass; and for the acoustic instruments it is sometimes difficult to pick out the signal from the noise in a loud stage environment. The TU-3 is far superior to its predecessor, and can give you a consistent central tone for all your strings. I tune guitars using the centred scale (as most people do), but the acoustic bass and double ... I bought this to replace a TU-2 which broke. Careful what you wish for
I read many many reviews all good and bought this. Whilst the tuner works great, my small cheap (fender frontman 15) blew a fuse and apparently a chip which now needs repair (probably not worth repairing). So whi;st the Boss is great, I will be getting a better amplifier to use with it and other pedals (blues driver).

Great for what it needs to do.
You need one of these for stage as you go out of tune so easily and sometimes you don't even know it. I've used one for years now and got this one for my smaller pedal setup for going abroad and where i can only take minimal gear. So i would recommend these boss tuners to anyone. If you've never had a tuner on stage, you'll think how did i ever manage before. Jay

Very simple to use - it`s a Boss, so it`s going to be last as well! It`s rugged and best of all, very accurate! Just switch on, play a note and start tuning - the display tells you whether you are flat or sharp, when it stops moving, you are in tune! Easy and very accurate tuning!
