Prince of persia is a game chain that started back in the days of 8 bit and was just recently revived with this game done by Ubisoft (who went on to make it a trilogy -- Warrior Within and The Two Thrones are the other 2 games). The story line for SoT was probably the best one from any of the new PoP titles. It was intresting and always had you moving on your feet. The puzzles were great and the battles were usually fun (though they got a little redundent), and the voices were perfect in the game. One of the coolest things about the game was the Sand that the game was based around. Collecting these sand clouds gave you the power to rewind time in order to correct a mistake you made. However all games have a downfall: this one was far too easy. I easily blew through the game in 8 hours of play time and it was hardly a challenge (which is something they fixed for the next two installments). Even playing on hard, the game was easy. One cool feature of playing on hard is that you get to unlock the original PoP and play that to see where it all really started! Of all three games produced by Ubisoft, this is probably the second best, because it sets up an awesome story, and even though easy, it was very very fun. The weakest of the three is the second one, which lacked story but had imporved on the combat. In my opinion only, the thrid installment was the best of the three. This game is more than worth it if you're looking for a good puzzler/beat em up game.Read full review
I have to say when I played the first 30min of th game I wasn't overall too impressed. As a matter of fact at that point I would have rated it a 7.5 out of 10. After that I didn't touch the game for about 2 months, and then last week I popped it back in. After the "tutorial" area, the game starts shining. As you learn more moves, and you see new setups that can use the new arsenal of moves on, things get interesting. You can run on walls, run up walls, run up walls do a jump off of the wall, etc.... The graphics on the game are good, but not great. The character graphics are just ok, but the environment is nice, and at points plain beautiful. The FMVs are also good quality. I like the fact also that you can play it on 480p. The game looks much better on my LCD TV on 480p. As for enemies there really aren't that many different type of enemies. As a matter of fact there are just a couple of different enemies which lead to a rather bland combat system. But then again for me this game wasn't about fighting enemies, but exploration and having fun getting from point A to point B using your moves. At points I thought they should have just removed the combat if they hadn't planned on actually giving it depth, and substance. I mean fighting 6-8 different types of enemies excluding bosses through an entire game, with a limited number of things you can do is just very boring. As for the sound the voice acting is very good. The background music is good. And the sounds are Ok. As for value I think this game is a game you may end up playing more than once. It's definitely very fun. And add to that the Easter Egg of having Prince of Persia the original game in there, and you have a great game with decent replayability, and an extra game which sum up for a good value overall. Anyway I recommend this game. It's very good, and with a few tweaks it could have been perfect. At this point in time I liked the game enough to prompt me to go buy the two sequels :)Read full review
Really fun and a addictive game. Playing the acrobatic Prince of Persia and traveling with a beautiful princess companion is fun. The fighting sequences are fun also especially when you get the main weapon of the game. Just one problem: getting stuck on levels. If you're not an expert gamer you could be stuck on a level for hours trying to get to other levels. The one thing that makes this tolerable is that the main weapon in the game rewinds time, so you have plenty of chances to correct mistakes. All and all its really good game .
Prince of Persia: Sands of Time definitely exceeds my expectations. Not only are the graphics and detail in this game stunning, but it also has a great adventure storyline, though I must warn you that practically throughout the whole game, this very annoying "Princess" will follow you. But don't worry, just run far a head of her, so when she starts talking you cut her off. Fighting in this game is also a lot of fun, but kind of easy, which is a good thing also. After you get the special dagger, the game starts getting better, you'll need it to stab enemies after combat to finish them off, you'll get a special abillity which lets you kill all the enimies in a room in seconds. Swinging from spikes hanging from a roof, flipping from pole to pole, to running along walls, this game keeps you entertained for as long as you play it, each time. This definitely isn't a waste of money, after you beat it, you'll still have this urge to beat it one more time.Read full review

Well I played this game when it first came out years ago and I had a hard time with all the diffrent controls. I bought this used copy this time having much more gamming experiance and I loved this game. It is so original and creative. they really did set the bar. I have bought alot of recent games that have used the same style as this game and these new releases just weren't as good as this classic game. I like this game so much I have just ordered the rest of the series of prince of persia games. I recommend this game to anyone that can play a thinkfast, action, puzzle, adventure game. It is great.
This game is the best I have seen (I haven't started the 2 following games on Prince of Persia, yet). This game is fluid, greatly detailed, and just excellant playability. You can walk on walls, swing through the air, slice and dice like a Ginsu. This game rocks! Some of the parts are hard to figure out (but you don't want it too easy right) but all in all, this is a great game. The game is mostly in faint colors and doesn't show a lot of real vibrant colors which helps promote the dreariness of war and help promote when something important is ahead of you. The thaught that went into this game is incredible. I can't wait to start the next game. The detail in the background is outstanding. This is a game that is sure to impress.
What can I say that hasn't already been said of this game. It truely is in a class with other greats such as God of War, it has great graphics and an entertaining storyline. The controls are so easy and intuitive an 10 year old can pick up the controller and know them all after about 5 minutes of play, yet it is still challenging and enjoyable for adults as well and doesn't feature the nudity and violence present in the aforementioned game. The main character's acrobatic style is fun and one of the main reason this game is so great. I highly recommend purchasing this game. Instructions aren't all that necessary because they are all shown to the player in the start of the game. So even if the game your looking to buy doesn't include them don't feel discouraged. So buy this game and unplug the phone, seeing as you will be hooked and addicted to this title for many hours after popping it in your PS2.Read full review
