About this product

Product Information

The First Templar is a third-person action-adventure game, with a historical-fiction setting and two playable main characters. The game takes place during the late 13th century, in the pre-dawn of the Enlightenment. Its story follows two unlikely companions: a French Templar Knight and a young noblewoman who has been accused of heresy and driven from her homeland.<br><br>Single players can control either one of the characters, allowing the computer to control the other and switching between the two to access the most useful skills from one situation to the next. In the game's two-player drop-in cooperative mode, each player controls a character, working together to battle enemies and solve environmental puzzles. The characters grow more powerful with experience, as players custom-develop them up a branching skill tree.<br><br>Weaving through themes of justice, conspiracy, and the secrets of the Holy Grail, the narrative calls on players to contemplate their actions in context, as even the most righteous cause may be carried out in a gruesome and unscrupulous manner. The First Templar was developed by Bulgaria's Haemimont Games, creator of adventuresome real-time strategy games with deeply researched historical settings, including Celtic Kings, Imperium Romanum, and Tzar.

The item arrived promptly, albeit in packaging that I found slightly lacking (no shell, just a bubble-wrap-lined shipping bag). Whether it was in shipping or an accident in the testing, the right joystick arrived broken. However, when I reported this to the seller, he promptly refunded me, and told me that I didn't have to ship the item back. While I am disappointed that the joystick was broken, the customer service was excellent, hence the positive feedback.

    Enjoying this game!

    This game is a lot of fun and has a really cool story if your into the setting. It’s a nice break from all of the gun/shooting games. The difficulty is not crazy hard and there are some challenging puzzles on some levels. I haven’t played any video games for over five years and just started collecting for Xbox 360 again because of all the games I missed. This has been a welcome addition. The music on each level has been great and adds a lot to each environment.

    Step back in time and quest for the Holy Grail

    Wonderful graphics, well set plot, fluid game play. For those of you that love the story in games enjoy the Templar movie that plays out and for those of you that like to just skip the movies and hack faces then rejoice because every single movie gives the option to skip it using the B button as soon they start. I bought this game without knowing anything about it and I am glad that I did it's a great starter RPG style game for beginners and a nice refresher for veteran players. Anyway about it if you like swords, Templars, RPGs, adventure, a good story, or even just breaking heads this one is worth checking out.

    Good Storyline but gameplay is about 10 years behind!

    I really think this could have been a great game. It's a great storyline, good character developement great co-op game. If they had just spent more time on the engine of the game. It's like playing kings quest when you should be playing gears of war. Don't pay full price, a good 10.00 game.
