  • Simply the best

Contax G2 is my favourite camera. The Zeiss 35mm lens is less common but lovely. The others are even better

  • Perfect.

A great camera that I got for a great price, and I couldn't be happier with it. It is always scary buying an item that you know is going to be 30-40 years old, but in this case, it turned out great!

  • A top 90's design. Solid and accurate. Beautiful Zeiss lenses

The contax G2 is a wonderfully solid feeling all metal camera, apart from the grip. It is easy to use but has everything a serious photographer could want. All controls fall to hand easily and it is very comfortable to use. The lenses are just magic and a 3 lens and camera outfit can be had for about 800 pounds. Dont believe the bull - the lenses and AF are fast and accurate. I hardly ever miss focus in hundreds of shots. The viewfinder is its weak point but very usable and infact at 45mm lens and above it is probably better than using most other rangefinders where you are suddenly shooting in a small yellow square area, whereas the G2 viewfinder always remains the same size and actually moves to correct parallax. Also, I have never had an issue with and mechanical or electronic issue on ...

  • Contax G2 Millennium outfit

This is the black special edition of the Contax G2. It looks the part, and is one of the very few autofocus rangefinder cameras. Its lenses are outstanding both in terms of quality and in terms of value. You pay a premium for the black version, which is less readily available in the second-hand market than the chrome version. This is a brilliant camera to use, particularly if you also use SLRs. I find the cross over in using some rangefinders uncomfortable, but this is not the case with the Contax G2--probably because of its excellent viewfinder. I think this is destined to become a real classic of a camera.

  • good quality, nice and delivery

Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.
