Having seen this on its DVD release a couple decades ago and not gone back to it since, I thought I might give myself the push to watch it again if I bought it 2nd hand in hi-def (Blu ray). I was NOT disappointed. The boost in resolution, in both audio and video were notable, and the director's cut just seemed to make the story slightly more coherent than I remember. I enjoyed it more (and better got my head round it) this time. Worthy of its "classic" badge - and another watch IMHO.
