We have played through coop and solo modes a few times, we found them very enjoyable but at times a little easy. I expect the game will come to life during competitive modes, we will also play with a few house rules to make gameplay a little harder.

Great game, but it will take ten minutes or so to explain the rules to new players. There are some great YouTube tutorials if players have the patience to sit through them. Best to set aside a good chunk of time to play and maybe ease people into the idea of playing a 'big box' game with a different shorter game first. The game pieces are well crafted and look great. I can't vouch for the longevity of the pieces but I worry that some of the detailing on the wooden zombies might rub off. I have played the solo game and a three player cooperative play-through. Both work well, but you have to be brutal when controlling the zombie A.I. or you rob yourselves of a proper challenge; for example, when placing new zombies always try to place them where they can do the most damage to the human players. Either trying to kill the weakest player or overrun the courtyard. I have yet to play a game with a human controlling the zombies but I worry their play-through won't be as fulfilling as the other players' experience of the game. Maybe a human zombie player would be best for the all vs. all gameplay variant. For my conclusion, read my review title. Another Tiny Epic game in the series I can recommend is Tiny Epic Galaxies.Read full review
