  • Excellent cross stitch kit

Great seller. Dimensions Gold counted cross stitch kits are exceptional quality and materials. The directions are clearly written and the flosses (threads) are organized on a cardboard holder and clearly marked by number. These Gold Collection kits may be a bit challenging for a beginner, but they are certainly doable! My very first counted cross stitch project was a Dimensions Gold Collection kit, and I was able to finish the entire project without any directions or assistance beyond the instructions included with the kit. (This was before the days of YouTube tutorials, etc - nowadays you can find plenty of tips and instructions on how to do counted cross stitch on YouTube!) If you’re new to counted cross stitch, you should be aware that the fabric is blank and made up of little holes where you insert a blunt tipped needle (included in Dimensions kits) and you will need to take apart the six strands of floss (thread) and use the amount of strands the chart/directions instruct you to use. Dimensions Gold kits usually have various amounts of floss strands for different symbols, so familiarize yourself with the directions and follow them carefully to ensure you won’t run out of any colors! Some stitches are full cross stitch (little X’s) and some are half stitches (////). Follow the chart and symbols to make sure you are making the correct type of stitch for each symbol on the design. There may also be combined colors, where the directions will tell you to combine one or two strands of a certain color with one or more strands of a different color for artistic effect. If you go slowly and follow the directions, you’ll do fine! Don’t give up! I highly recommend buying a Pako Thread Organizer (available on EBay or online craft stores) and marking the paper guide using a Bic four-color pen with the colored symbols for each thread or combination - you can then EASILY pull off the amount of strands you need as you stitch, and put any leftover threads onto the organizer for future use on the project. Good luck!
