This two-disc set features not only the 20th Anniversary Limited Collector's Edition but also the original 1982 theatrical edition. "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" is a merger of all the ingredients that the audience loves, including passion, friendship, love, and fear of the unknown. The powerful execution of the story is topped off with intelligent direction of the Steven Spielberg, and it struck a chord with audiences everywhere. The first disc of this two-disc set features the 20th anniversary edition in a widescreen DVD format with an aspect ratio of 1.85:1 and 120 minutes run time. This disc also features an introductory segment by Steven Spielberg, full-length audio of John Williams performing the score live at the 2002 premiere, and planetary facts with commentary. The second disc has the original theatrical edition of "E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial" in an anamorphic widescreen DVD format with 115 minutes run time and an aspect ratio of 1.85:1. The second disc of this science-fiction/fantasy also includes additional features, such as the making of 20th Anniversary featurette, publicity photographs, marketing galleries, and the 2002 re-release theatrical trailer.
