Keep the bearings clean!
On my mountain bike, the front wheel throws mud and grit right into the lower bearing unit on the steerer tube. Last time I changed bearings, they were grinding from all the grit. This headset protector boot is perfect for blocking the grime from getting in the bearing set.

This thing doesn’t fit
This might fit on a bike with a really thin and tiny frame. I have a 2016 mtb with 1-1/8 headset and this can’t wrap around the headtube without stretching too far and pulling itself into the seam between the fork crown and headtube. It pretty much just inserts itself into the seam and might even trap dirt and sand in there.
