    Sensible speaker upgrade for use with a good OE head unit.

    I used a pair of these to replace the original ‘premium’ factory speakers in my MK2 Ford Focus ST-2 with the Sony head unit. They are in the factory locations but with sound deadening/acoustic foam applied to the doors and door cards, plastic speaker mounting rings, rear diffusers and Vibe speaker ‘baffles’ used to produce as good an install as possible. I mounted the tweeters in the original factory sail panel location - they fit behind the grille with a little modification to the panel. They work well with the Sony head unit which provides more than ample power - they are sensitive speakers and 4 ohm rated like the originals. Clarity and punch are significantly improved over the OE Sony speakers. Music has more depth and sound-staging is better too. Bass appears slightly less ...

    good but not as sensitive as the price suggests

    in my opinion they are not as sensitive as specified comparing them to ivc 30 pound speaker they are not three or two times louder as the figures state they should be but the audio reproduction is good at all frequencies
