The RGB backlighting is fixed rainbow colours and just changes in intensity (on solid and a 'breathing' mode). It is a membrane keyboard and has quite a firm but silent touch to the keys. Two minor downsides for me are the lack of a USB fixed connection (just wireless options but includes a USB receiver dongle) and the keycaps are solid and so don't light up with the backlight on.
