The new Epitaph signing's unapologetically loud-and-hooky music and their fabulously chaotic live shows stem directly from an all-consuming desire to tap into the cosmic power grid, and channel it full-force to the world at large. Singer Alicia Solombrino and guitarist Thomas Becker first crossed paths in hometown Kansas City, where soon they were attracting the attention of local radio, who began to air their hook-laden demos, not to mention local fans, who swelled their shows to the point where the band began to land prestigious opening slots for Smashing Pumpkins and My Chemical Romance. Signed to Epitaph, the band began work with producer John Feldmann (5 Seconds of Summer, All Time Low, The Used), leading to their debut, Battles, out this July, right on top of their highly anticipated debut as a Warped Tour band. Fueled by the huge hooks of radio-friendly "War Inside Your Heart" and "Capture and Release, " not to mention "Invincible," which became an unofficial anthem for the KC Royals during their 2014 post-season run, Battles will be the breakout release from the breakout Warped band this summer.
