    Floppy Like Rubber at One Step Down

    The marketing and expectation set by this manufacturer is touted to be ideal for low tuning. I installed the DDT 5 string set on a client's long scale Yamaha. After tuning a step down, (A, D, G, C, F, the misleading claims made by DR's DDT (55-135) became apparent. The strings were floppy. This "locking in" is nothing of the kind. String sets in this gauging maintain normal tension as a lite set would a standard pitch. I had to remove them, and install his usual S.I.T. TNR .055-.115. set, along with a single S.I.T. TNR .140. I had to apologize to him for even recommending the DDT line.

    Awesome strings!

    I have a Harley Benton B-550 and was looking at replacing the standard set of strings that came with it for much thicker ones so I can keep the same tuning but with more tension to remove the rattle I was having on my original strings. These did exactly that, plus they sound very warm and nice, the others I had were super bright and kinda tinny. Will definitely buy these again if necessary! Also, I did not have to adjust the nut to use these strings. They don't pinch so tuning is not an issue and the nut hasn't broken from the pressure (not yet at least). Would advise filing the nut wider but not 100% necessary it seems.

    THESE ARE THE ANSWER IF YOU ARE TIRED OF THE LOOSE DOWN TUNE EFFECT...

    I am happy to say that for those of us that took on a project such as a low tuning group of guitar players that feel it is heavier if tuned down thus creating that terrible loose and saggy string feeling...these are the one to make a difference. These strings are awesome, they don't lose the brightness, don't lose the tension, and almost blow my mind still...how they are almost dialed in to a specific tuning...yes...they snap right in to a tune...and stay! I don't work for these guys, I don't sell them...but, if you are buying heavier gauges to compensate...these are the best ones to do it...and they are not at all super heavy feeling...all I can say...TRY THEM.
