About this product

Product Information

Once upon a time the mighty Ghost Lion descended upon a peaceful village and chilled its citizenry to the bone with his blood-curdling roars and spectral visage. Soldiers tried to protect the innocent, but the lion was too powerful and too quick to contain. Suddenly, a young brave soldier threw his spear at the white lion, sending it scurrying into a cave at the edge of the village.

Maria's parents, determined to solve the mystery of the Ghost Lion, set out to on a perilous journey to find the savage beast. Unfortunately, they disappeared and no one has heard from them since. It is up to you to help Maria summon her courage, hopes and dreams, find her parents, and unravel the Legend of the Ghost Lion.

As you undertake your quest, you will encounter friendly characters from which you can glean information. You will also be joined by helpful companions such as: Moja: Spirit of the Spear, who is with you from the start of the game; Twana: Spirit of the Lamp, who is skilled in magic; and Winged Man, who flies with wings of an eagle. Unfortunately, numerous enemies will clog your path as well. These include skeletons, zombies, goblins and kobolds, monsters with the face of a dog.

When an enemy strikes, you will be given the choice to run or fight. If you decide to duke it out, you can select a magic fighting tool or call upon one of the spirits to assist you. Attacking magic include needles, bombs, flames, storms, thunder and other destructive forces; defensive magic consists primarily of rings and planes of light that protect you. Other types of magic let you flash your enemies with light, surround them with darkness, put them to sleep, and hold them in place. You can even confuse your foes by creating multiple images of yourself.

In addition to battling monsters and consulting with friends, you will need to gather fragments of hope, which let you increase your courage and dreams. Visiting springs also replenishes your courage and dreams and lets you save your progress. Dreams let you call upon friends for assistance while courage acts as an energy meter. You must also look for rubies, which can be used in stores to purchase keys, bread, blue rings, a sword and other helpful items.

The box for Ghost Lion describes it as "The Great Role Playing Game for Beginners!" The manual suggests that you make maps as you go. Battery backup lets you save the progress of up to three different players. You view most of the action from above the playfield; the fights are turn-based and the results of the battles are given on screen. The game ends when Maria's courage runs down to zero.

Probably one of the most securely and well wrapped packages I have ever received. Clock was in just as fine condition when it arrived as it was before shipment. Shipping cost was a bit high, though. The value added in a low purchase price made up for it. Clock looks great and runs well. Keeps good time. I would purchase from this seller again! Thank you!

The knife arrived very quickly and was packaged well to prevent shipping damage. I believe the knife was a good value for the money. The knife was as described and appeared as described in the ad. I will look forward to using this seller again when the opportunity arises. Great experience-

This is an amazing game that was released late on nintendos NES life. Beautiful story, graphics, control, and Some of the best 8 bit chip music ever heard.
