Excellent tool for mortise hinges. Comes with the router bit too!
I needed to install a new bedroom door and I was a little skeptical about this job at first because of the hinges. I used to chisel the hinges to mortise them into the door and sometimes can be a hassle and yield uneven results. This jig is well thought out and includes everything you need to mortise the hinges besides the router and electricity. Oh and I forgot, you have to have a brain. Don’t abuse tools and you won’t get a bad result. Treat the tool with respect and you will be respected it’s that simple. I’ve read bad reviews of the tool and most of them are unjustified and some just inaccurate. This tool is not going to last forever, it’s not made for abuse, and it won’t give you common sense either. If your looking for these things you don’t need a tool you need a brain. Ryobi A99HT1Door hing jig.
This jig is an excellent idea, easy to use and gave great results, for then original price without having to purchase it from the USA. is really good value, but with the shipping it does send the cost up. I tried it today and didn't realise that the width of the hinge differed from the one I was about to fit. I had to insert a piece of wood down the back side to compensate. This idea came to me because the online video showed how to use the jig for even smaller pair of hinges than the 3" setting. Will it last, I'm not sure. I've already caught it with my router and took a small chunk out of the side. Why can't this jig be purchased in the UK I don't know, it really should be!Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Ryobi hinge jig
I bought this to help with hanging 7 slab doors into existing jams. The jig is well thought out, with plenty of adjustments. It also stores any parts that you take off. On the downside, the screw to tighten the jig to the door is no longer metal but plastic.
