Item was brand new as described and shipped quickly. While I was very happy to see if was packaged in waterproof packaging (as we had a horrible storm when it was delivered and we weren't home) I do wish it had some extra padding or protection around it as its a gift and the packaging or wooden case that goes around it could have been damaged. Thankfully we got lucky and it arrived without issue.
