    Good Game

Good game. If you like Pokemon you will like it. Can be hand holding at time, which can be frustrating as a more expirienced player. But good graphics and fun story.

  • Most critical review

Started out strong but fell flat. Regretting it slightly.

SWSH would've been fine if we were in the 3DS era. It was surprisingly good at the beginning if you overlook the reused models and wack textures. The region tugged at my heartstrings. Baiting cutscenes and new Pokémon wherever I went, even the longwinded stroll past 4 routes until the first stadium hype fest (gym revamp) felt brilliant. I was fairly entertained for a good bit until the most hysterical thing happened - I started playing Pokémon wrong. I was stuck in the wild area for +10 hours, borderline addicted until eventually I accepted that one had to move forward. This is where the fun halted. If you have a Nintendo Switch Online Sub you'll enjoy Max Raid Battles decently, otherwise good luck beating any lategame ones without flinging yourself into the den out of despair because you ...

  • A disappointing addition to an already faltering franchise.

This generation of Pokemon doubles down on what I hated about Sun & Moon, with even more hand holding, more pointless cutscenes when they aren't necessary while not showing the actually important moments, less emphasis on telling a good story, another annoying, game-breaking mechanic in the form of dynamax/gigantamax, weak enemy AI, even less trainer encounters/battles, less optional areas to explore/alternate routes to travel, a butchered Pokedex with only around half of the 'mons usable in the game, a practically nonexistent post-game, a really poorly implemented 'evil' faction/organization... it felt like a very half-baked addition to the franchise. Maybe worth ~$25 - $30 on a good day, just to sate that Pokemon craving with something new. Honestly, I'd recommend sticking with one of ...

  • Love this game to its core!

I love the pokemon games. This game adds to that fun. Plus if you want to you can move most Pokémon from other games. It costs extra depending on the games and which console they come from. There is multiplayer if you wanted to play with something else, and I love the story in this game.

  • Daughter loves it!

My daughter really loves this game. She has played it for hours in the few days since getting it. Definitely not disappointing for her!
