      Poor performance for the money!!

      Bought this in December 2021 and it is acting up. Picture quality is okay and menus easy to operate. Set up was easy too. Box response is very slow. However you can't use the live TV app to allow viewing on a smart device and setting up recordings as it doesn't exist on Google play store this is the reason for only giving 4 stars. Some help on getting access the app would be good as the Humax Aura app does not function for this box!! Wouldn't the product as there are shortcomings with it such as Audi descriptor takes wobblies and you get a voice . Also subtitles come up on screen without touching any buttons. There is no information button on the controller to see what programmes are about. HDMI cable that came with the box has poor connections and overheats prompting weird messages in ...

      Average, very slow

      It is incredibly slow to turn on and takes a lifetime to load up YouTube and generally slow in all modes. Netflix seems like a life time sometimes to load up. Having said that it's a fairly cheap one off payment to have the ability to record stuff and have Netflix on your TV.

      Humax FVP-5000T... This device has changed my Covid lockdown life ..

      During the Covid Lockdown I was finding my TV viewing habits getting a little out of control.. After analysing this change in viewing habits, I discovered that I was regularly watching the same programmes or series, So I got one of these. The FVP-5000T has the ability to record 4 Tv programmes at once. so now I click through the 8 day schedule, recording everything I'd watch & a few more. It's a simple fix! Now I watch stuff when I need a rest from my (creative) activities. With a X32 fast forward, I never have to watch a "just eat" again.. When I stop watching a recording, the device stores my position so, I have the option of continuing later. I'm not a couch potato anymore! I'm in total control.. I've had these facilities before, even my smart TV can do it.. but not anywhere near as ...

      Good and Bad

      Being able to record four programmes simultaneously is a great improvement over my previous recorder which could only record two. The remote control has a very nice feel to it with a positive “click” when pressing the buttons, again a great improvement over my previous one where button pressing was a bit “hit and miss” especially when the machine was busy. It is unfortunate that the machine does not have front panel lights to show when it is actively on and when in stand-by as it appears to have three levels (asleep, transitioning and on) of activity and it is difficult to tell what state it is in at any time.
