Casper Van Dien, star of Paul Verhoeven's original theatrical hit STARSHIP TROOPERS, returns after over a decade for this second sequel to the alien-bug-battling, action-packed splatter-fest satire. After the celebrated Johnny Rico (Van Dien), now a colonel, attempts to defend the planet Roku San from some nasty arachnids, he finds himself put on death row for acting inappropriately during battle. But when a Federation starship piloted by tough soldier babe Lola Beck (Jolene Blalock, ENTERPRISE) crashes on a far-away alien planet, only the bug-squashing Rico can save the day, and so the authorities have no choice but to release him for the mission. Armed with an impossibly advanced weapon known as the Marauder, Rico and his crew are prepared to exterminate by any means necessary. MARAUDER, written and directed by Edward Neumeier (co-scribe of ROBOCOP and the original STARSHIP TROOPERS), is a return to satire form for the Starship series

    Heinlein must be turning in his grave

    I never expected Casper Van Dien to play in a good movie. And, while I think Jolene Blalock was a great (looking) Vulcan, I never expected her to deliver a fantastic performance. And after the horrible movie that Starship Troopers 2 was, I didn't think I could see worse. Well, let's be honest, it wasn't THAT bad, but it sucked big time. The special effects were decent for an obviously tiny budget movie, the acting was towards the bad side, the script was RIDICULOUS, while the directing was average. But the plot! Ugh! Can you believe that in the end a veteran soldier finds religion after being relentlessly pestered by a dumb blond? And the soldier was a woman, so she didn't do it for the normal reason guys get religious around blonds! I mean, it felt like a Christian sect funded ...

    Starship Troopers 3: Marauder

    I like the fact they brought back Johnny Rico as played by Casper Van Diem like in the first Starship Troopers. The movies plot was better than the second movie they put. It was an entertaint to watch.
