    The Circus

    This is one of Chaplin's best film considering I a huge fan of all his works. this ranks up there with the "Gold Rush" & his later films like :The Great Dictator & a King in NY" While this was unavailable for years even back in the video hay-days I could never find this. it was a real treat to get a dvd copy of this & best a double disk. Considering it is a silent film It starts off with the theme song sung by Chaplin himself "swing little Girl" the rest of the music is good as well (if you like that kind of music.) Chaplin plays his famous roll as the vagabond, & as his slap stick gags get the better of him he winds up in the circus & doesn't realize he's the hit of the show until the girl he fall's in love with carelessly tell him.     Classic and better yet, fun

    I love this film! The tramp, running as usual from a cop, stumbles into a circus performance and is hired. Highlights include Charlie on a tightrope struggling to keep his balance while monkeys are trying to play with him. The closing shot is the definitive tramp exit. One thing. What’s up with the Korean subtitles in this edition? If you can ignore those this is a LOT of fun!!!

    the dvd transfer is superb .extras are great, including footage experimenting with 3-d and a long scene shot, but cut from the final film. only negative is the extra fottage has no soudtrack, so it is SILENT film.
