      Even better than I expected

      I wasn't sure about this but it appeared to be higher quality than some of the others available so I took a chance and I'm delighted to say, I'm very pleased with it. This tool is made of steel (checked a subtle spot near the base with a dremmel tool and it sparked with "cross-shaped" sparks so there appears to be at least some carbon in this steel - awesome). The markings match the ring sizing rings that I have so I'm confident with its accuracy. My only concern is that the markings are etched in and appear somewhat dim already, so time will tell if they rub off, especially if used to size rings (i.e., friction rubbing over the markings). In any case, I'm happy with the purchase and recommend it for any ring maker.

      Making coin rings

      I have just started making coin rings with this and so far it has worked very well and taken a beating with no problems. I find it's best to wipe it down with a little light lube before and after use. I am beating the ring into shape on it and your use may be different. I also used it to fix a bent roman ring 700 to 800 years old and it did a very nice jobs with out damaging the look of the ring.

      A Lifetime Mandrel

      This is a wonderful steel ring mandrel. It is 12" in length and measures US ring sizes from 1 to 15 by quarter size increments. It is heavy hardened steel with a knurled, non-slip handle. It has a polished finish and no groove. You will be able to size ring, shape rings, bend wire and anything your imagination allows.

      Good “tool steel”

      Great quality ring mandrel for shaping and sizing of rings will last a lifetime especially if the hammer 🔨 I am using never strikes this mandrel ( hammer to mandrel contact) This is an important, often over looked, metal working/shaping rule of thumb, this is true for an anvil also!i! Never strike the surface
