We bought this thinking that it was a simple cotton fabric with a nice bright pattern, Probably we should have read more about is but as we buy a lot of material on Ebay we didn't. It is very different and apparently made with wax which has to be washed out...It looks and feels very like paper (I remember tablecloths like this when I was a child) I read that it is made into garments but I found that it wasn't really any use for the purpose I needed it for. At the moment it is languishing in my fabric stash till I can find a use for it (tablecloths?) Also although we were warned about how to remove the stuck-on lable and closely followed the directions given it left a large sticky mark that was almost impossible to sew..I feel it should be better described at the top of the page. it was not at all what we were expecting although I am sure that someone familiar with this sort of fabric would be delighted with it!Read full review

This fabric isn't "100% cotton" as claimed, so completely unsuitable for quilting or African style dressmaking as it doesn't hold the shape as you'd expect, and I discovered shockingly that it definitely isn't cotton when it melted when ironed and I ended up with a sticky gloop under my iron soleplate. Very disappointing, especially as African waxed cotton fabrics are such a dream to work with.
