Good, robust and dependable
We didn’t utilize all the options, used it in potentiometer mode only, so don’t take this as a full-on endorsement. But all the pots did what they were supposed to. We did have one incident (probably user-caused), where it acted like it was dead. After we powered it off and back on it behaved normally. Once in over 100 cycles. The oscillator runs a tad over 22K, not the 20K as advertised, and the waveform is not as rock-solid as I would like. Driving LED’s at the lower end of the power cycle (20-60%) the waveform became unstable, and the lights would flicker. Adding a HUGE inductor to the circuit seemed to solve the instability and the flickering. Seems the length of the “on” cycle is influenced by the type of output load (capacitive, inductive, resistive) A caveat: this is advertised as DC motor controller, not an LED controller, but when I asked the vendor (before buying) if this would drive LED’s, they told me “yes”.
