Not since Little House on the Prairie has there been a TV show that can benefit every family member regardless of age. Real life problems with real life solutions is what this program is all about, with the axis of energy coming from a Mom and Dad that each have a heart the size of the Sun. Like Charles and Carolyn from Little House, Eric and Annie of 7th Heaven are both very human, far from infallible, as are also their 5 kids (with 2 more on the way) but their love for the kids and for others in general, is what makes this program so very special. Faults and fallibility aside, the love usually always triumphs after many heart wrenching struggles. Of the 5 Camden children, it is 12 year old Simon, played by charismatic David Gallagher, that has the most exemplary relationships with the kids at school, reflecting his fathers impeccable family values, and displaying a maturity that is far beyond his age. His relationship with 12 year old Dena shows deep and profound feelings that both children share with one another, and eclipses many adult relationships I have seen. He does not actually tell her that he loves her until Season 4 (disc 4 track 3 at 0:31:55 to 0:32:10) but the feelings are still there throughout this 3rd Season. Also Matt moves in with 3 girls but remains faithful to Shana, however towards the end of this season he really gets involved with Heather by preventing her from marrying a total jerk. The aftershocks however occur in the 4th Season. A first rate family program and a modern day version of Little House on the Prairie, with love being the axis of both families. Excellent entertainment.Read full review
Compared to Seasons 1 & 2, I felt this season was much better. It was more true to life in the going on's of the Camden clan and prooved to be really enjoyable. So much so that I watched the whole season in 2 days. Yep, that good. Infact, I cannot wait for the fourth season to be released to DVD which is going to happen soon. I already paid for my reserved copy and am anxiously awaiting it's arrival. If you are a fan of wholesome TV shows that the whole family can watch, then you will soon become a fan of 7th heaven. My 11 year old son and 8 year old daughter love it as well, and kids truly have discriminating taste, lol.
Some incredible writing, acting and directing that mark this series as among the best in TV history. Collins and Hicks are superb in their roles as the parents of 5 children all dealing with problems befitting their age groups. For younger children, some of the problems involving teenagers may be inappropriate for them to view. Parental guidance is needed.
I decided to buy this DVD set because it is one of my favorite TV shows. This so far is my favorite season series. I liked everything about it, every series was great. My only regret is that it had to end with the sixth disc.
I love this Series!!! There isn't a lot of wholesome stuff on the tube these days, but there are a few shows in syndication that are worth watching. I started watching this show and fell in love. It's sad that the Family Channel pre-empted this show with The Gilmore Girls during the whole month of December, because they were making room for their Christmas schedule. No matter--I can watch it whenever I please. I have Seasons one thru three.
