Current slide {CURRENT_SLIDE} of {TOTAL_SLIDES}- Save on Kettles
I purchased this a couple of weeks ago as it was recommended as a best buy cheap kettle by a leading consumers' organisation, and it's living up to its reputation. A few cons: *** The metal surface is not insulated, and it gets hot when the kettle is boiled - be careful! *** * The kettle is fairly noisy (but no more so than my previous kettles, as I remember). * It's not very quick to fill if you use the spout. * I found the handle comfortable, but someone with larger hands could possibly burn themselves if they accidentally touch the body of the kettle after it's boiled. The gap behind the handle is about 3cm. Outweighed by the pros: * Kettle is quite light in weight. * It's easy to position on the base, as the connection point is in the centre. * The lid is easy to put on and remove. * As the plastic base doesn't get hot, the kettle can be placed on the floor if you're using the kettle in a temporary situation, e.g. during refurbishment works. (As a precaution I fill the kettle with cold water immediately after boiling, to cool the body). * One-cup facility As the element is concealed, it's possible to boil just one cup if you wish. The one-cup/two/three markers are very useful - they're red-coloured and are situated inside the kettle (picture attached). As the lid is easy to remove and replace, I don't miss the absence of external markers. Other info: * The cable length is 66cm. * The finish is brushed, so it's not fully reflective. (That's fine by me - I don't relish catching hall-of-mirrors images of my face when I'm making tea!)Read full review

Lighter weight when full. Easy pour. Easy grip. Quick boil. 1 cup boil. I like that lid is removable to fill so wide neck when filling therefore less splashing. Only thing that could improve this kettle would be an on light but the almost immediate noise of it starting to heat alerts it’s on. A very good value simple kettle at around £20 that beats many more expensive ones. Recommend it.

When I ordered it, I'd expected (falsley) that you could pour water in at te spout and there'd be a measure up the side. Instead, you've got to remove the lid each time to fill. It's cheap, it's light, it's the right colour but not what I'd wanted. C'est La Vie.

As it doesn't do anything other than boil water, i'm a little disappointed. With all the modern technology about these days why doesn't it do more? I invest all this money, just as we about to embark on, what we were told, a journey to the sunny uplands, and it it does is boil water? However, I must admit it does boil water admirably weel i was just hoping that in this brave new world it would be a little more muti-functional.
