I'm not giving this 5 stars just because I haven't tried out half of the features this amazing little phone offers. I bought this 3-4 y.o. smartphone instead of one of several Samsung 0-1 y.o. Samsung phones mainly because I was skeptical about any company's products when it starts to dominate a market and the Samsun phones had all started to feel very plasticky and breakable(alhough in fairness to Samsung I didn't have any evidence that they were more breakable.) Moreover their reviews were all over the map and they were loaded with features like tv that I didn't want. The HTC on the other hand had consistently good reviews and the model I'd seen had a reassuring heft to it with a very sturdy-feeling beautiful gunmetal grey surface and minimal gimmicky features. Plus, it gave me that elusive ebay thrill of getting something for $50 that sold for $500 just 4 years ago. Obviously there's always a risk to buying used stuff, but HTC has a great reputation and this model had passed the "lemon" test if its owner had kept it this long. I saw buying this as being like getting the 10 y.o. Mercedes instead of the new Camray. It truly behaves like a very very small laptop. No corners were cut, the display is lovely, and everything does what it's supposed to do. The slide-out part is aa little loose but that's the only obvious sign of wear and tearRead full review
This is an excellent phone running the Windows Mobile 5 OS. The quality is outstanding, and it is very easy to learn and use. With the Windows Mobile OS you can truly do just about anything you can do on your PC plus have all the conveniences of a cell phone. Sound quality is very good. There are only a couple of drawbacks. The back battery cover is flimsy, so you might want to get a spare. This is a common complaint. The slide-out keyboard is full QWERTY, and easy to use even though a little crowded. With a little practice you get used to it. The touch screen is very responsive but you do have to use a stylus. One comes built-in and you can find spares on eBay for not much (try the ones for Nintendo games). Overall a five-star device and well worth the money.
This phone is amazing. It has many features and I am not really that great with new things esp. technical things and I was able to down load a quick start and user guide and easily navigated through this phone. There is still many things I need to learn but so far has been relatively easy to navigate and use. The only potiental problem I see is that I don't have a "data plan" and I can see where this can be easy to access this feature unintentionally. I love the WIFI feature. The only negative I have seen so far is the battery life is not good. I have to charge daily. I have owned this product about 1 week now and love it. The phone is very sturdy feeling even though it is used and several years old. Because of this phone I purchased 4 others of the newer model (because price was cheap) for my other family members.Read full review
