The only affordable solution to a very expensive problem.
Superlatives abound. This is the rare case of an essential item, with a boat on the box (not literally, but boaties know...) which costs less than its worth. The standard of workmanship is exceptional with high quality materials and a fit and finish which is at least as good as the most costly solutions. They could charge five times what this costs and it would still be a bargain. Living aboard a steel yacht, this is an essential item which has the potential to literally save my life and home, more so than an EPIRB, lifejacket or a raft as I spend more time plugged in to shore power (albeit very rarely) than I ever will in a life or death emergency. Galvanic isolators are required to get an electrical warrant of fitness where I am, which is required certification to even enter many marinas ... Superlatives abound. Usually, where boats are involved, such an essential item would come at a price to support the manufacturers kids through expensive schools, the Maserati to drop them off in and the luxury yacht for their holidays - Safeshore certainly don’t seem like that kind of business. Since installing the unit (which I could have done in the dark, drunk, bleeding and with two broken arms, its so simple) I’ve discussed the unit with a few other boat owners who are either shocked at how cheap it was, or they have one already and are similarly impressed with their own. It could be an inert block of metal and resin, for all I know at this stage, but if it does what it says on the box, it’ll save me hundreds in zinc, thousands in hull plating and paint, and tens of thousands in rescue costs for a structural failure when offshore. Seriously, if every company traded with the kind of ethics and standards as these guys, the world wouldn’t be a write-off and Trump would be broke and in prison.
