    Lacks connectivity

    The issue with this device is that it lacks connectivity to the inbuilt software in apple devices. As the lighting connector is inserted into the iPhone or iPad all 8 connections are momentarily shorted out. This primes the iPad/iPhone to expect a "hand shake" from a built in chip in the lightning lead. When the device doesn't get one it seems to shut off all the connections.You cant even charge the device using lead 5 for example. Unfortunately this significantly impedes the effectiveness of this device which appears to lack the inbuilt handshake chip.
