Having owned Pioneer`s best headphones (SE-505), I had to buy a mint set of SE-405 to compare the two. I was surprised how good these headphones sounded. This model only has volume controls on the cups without the tone controls but I didn`t miss them. These are not lightweight headphones thank goodness. I prefer the quality feel of real headphones and these deliver. Pioneer was on top of their game when they made this whole line of headphones back in the day.
