    Castrol lubricant

    I bought this to lubrcate a brand new bench vice I recently purchased. Being brand new it was a little stiff & needing‘working in’. So I bought this grease. Now I didn’t need a great big tin for what only was a small job so when I found this grease & it came in a 50 gram tin it was perfect for my needs. Now my bench vice is all lubed up & I’m very happy 😃

    Guess 'oil' not buy this again

    The product is supposedly Castrol. it came in a plain tin with what looked like a home made label not even stuck centrally on the lid. It's difficult to believe that a company such as Castrol would produce a very cheap looking product like this one. No colour logo, no indentations on the tin just a very cheap looking package. As to the grease, very thin, when I put some between my thumb and forefinger, it started to melt, very thin, more like a thick oil than grease, no, I don't believe this is a genuine product.

    Just the job

    Just the right size tin for me as i dont use a lot of it it's mainley for nuts and bolts on the car, odd jobs round the house and so on, i think it goes a long way it seems to be quality product to me.

    Not yet used, but should be of good quality

    I haven't used the grease yet because it for the SDS+ bits in my new SDS+ drill - which itself has yet to be used. Nevertheless. and assuming that the grease was genuinely made by Castrol, then I would expect it to be of good quality.
