Brilliant read
Everything you wanted to know about Stoke from the old days. I thought it was going to be mainly about the potteries but it included lots of other industries as well. A real must if you have family connected to the area from past times. The photography is brilliant.

Having been born in Stoke-on-Trent before the outbreak of the Second World War, this book covers an area I remember as a young child. Many of the sections have since disappeared and although I left the area as an advanced teenager, this book brought back an era and many visions no longer available. Have to admit, for it's price and coverage, very little I have purchased on a similar theme and subject comes anywhere near to this item. You need to have been born there to fully appreciate, sadly.Having been born in Stoke-on-Trent before the outbreak of the Second World War, this book covers an area I remember as a young child.
