Clearly it had been missed somehow during manufacture. The longest plug was soldered as it should have been. I had to solder the pins myself, which was no problem for me, but if you were a customer who didn't have a soldering iron, and was relying on patch leads to connect it, then you would not be able to use this UNO as it was. Otherwise it works great, does exactly as it should for a very impressive price
