When the British government fears that a plan is afoot to steal the royal family's beloved crown jewels from their secure home in the Tower of London, secret agent Johnny English (Rowan Atkinson) is assigned to the case. Unfortunately, English isn't the British Secret Service's first choice for the job; he's just the only secret agent that is still alive. Even though English dreams of being a suave, debonair agent and has only the best intentions, the hapless Brit continually makes matters worse as he tries to save his country from falling into the clutches of French prison mogul Pascal Sauvage, played by John Malkovich. Among other things, English misuses secret agent gadgets, inadvertently leaks his plans to the bad guys, takes the most inopportune route into Sauvage's castle, and generally makes silly mistakes--and somehow gets away with it. Physical comedian Atkinson, best known as Mr. Bean, shines in this film, which was directed by Peter Howitt (SLIDING DOORS). JOHNNY ENGLISH also features British comedian Ben Miller as Bough, English's mild-mannered, but surprisingly effective sidekick from the agency. Australian singer and actress Natalie Imbruglia makes her feature film debut as Special Agent Lorna Campbell.

    Really funny

    We watched this film Johnny English and found it really funny. In fact we enjoyed it so much that we went to the movies to watch the new Johnny English film which was just as funny. Would absolutely recommend this film. Worth a watch.

    hilarious comedy for all the family!! completly diffrent to his normal mr bean role, rowan attkinson takes on the role of secret agent johnny english taking on th villain pascal savage, played by john malkovitch, in this completly diffrent and much more destructive role of the undercover agent who simply can't do anything right!! 5 star entertainment.. and for those mr bean none fans, this would be worth seeing.

    JOHNNY ENGLISH

    One of the best British comedies in a long time. Rowan Atkinson is perfectly cast as `Johnny English`, an incompetent idiot who believes he is a super suave secret agent in the 007 mould. The reality is very different as everything he does ends in disaster and much embarrassment for him. A very funny spoof on the spy genre, it joyfully mirrors scenes from the James Bond series and sends them up mercilessly. Atkinson is superb in the title role and his rubber like facial expressions have to be seen to be believed. The plot may be ridiculous, but it is all done seriously with some hilarious set pieces. John Malkovich is very good as the `French` villain and plays his role to perfection. A comedy that I found to be laugh at loud funny and that is not something I can say very often.
