    ".. could be England in 1230 A.D. ..."

    Despite the actions of the wicked Sheriff, cutting villagers tongues out etc., the production manages to be quite "light" most of the time so you never forget that it is make-believe. What is quite nice is the fact that it was filmed in Eastern Europe, in county that could be England in 1230 A.D., the peasant's hovels look nice and basic and the local extras generally also look medieval. History professors may not be impressed but it is entertaining and makes a nice change form most of the TV programmes on offer these days.

    Lighthearted view on Robin Hood.
