THE FAST AND THE FURIOUS is a nitro-burning joyride that makes outstanding use of special effects, innovative camera work, and a nonstop throbbing soundtrack. From the opening sequence--a high-speed, high-tech truck robbery--the film never drops below the red line. Roaring along at breakneck speed, Dom (Vin Diesel) and his crew meet on the streets of L.A. each night to show off their high-powered racers. When new guy Brian (Paul Walker) wants to add his fuel to the fire, he can't cough up the cash to race, but offers up his car as collateral. In their tiny jacked compacts, Dom, Brian, and Edwin (Ja Rule) burst into a high-gear race with Brian nearly beating perennial champion Dom. But in the final moments, he loses the race and his car. Brian's debt is quickly cleared, however, when he saves Dom both from the cops and from a potentially violent encounter with Johnny Tran (Rick Yune), a rival gang lord. Dom takes Brian under his wing--a decision that disgusts his gang but delights his sister Mia (Jordana Brewster). The gang never suspects that Brian is not who he seems: he is actually an undercover cop, and though he wishes otherwise, he's there to bust Dom for committing the armed truck robbery witnessed in the opening scenes.

I've watched it about 1,000 times so far
I love this movie. Like Fight Club, every time I watch it I get something different. This has always been one of my favorite movies because it highlights the contrast between human nature and technology. Cars, guns, bikes, money, people...great movie...especially when the black charger enters the picture. Unfortunately I bought the HD DVD version not realizing that it wasn't a normal DVD mastered in HD...won't play on my blu-ray player in any mode but I did go out and buy a regular copy to replace my scratched regular copy. Quality of the standard DVD isn't too bad on upconversion through a huge LCD TV. If you've never seen this movie you've got to go buy the DVD. It will blow you away.I love this movie. The Fast and the Furious
What I liked most about this movie are the super cars and color being in HD it makes the movie just a great movie. Having Paul Walker playing with Vin Diesel is truely a plus. The action and the sound are just super in HD and a must have DVD for your collection. There are also music Videos that just are great with the Tricking'out a Hot Import car. ,This movie fast and furious put you in the driver's seat and just dares you to exceed all limits!!!What I liked most about this movie are the super cars and color being in HD it makes the movie just a great movie. 8 Camera Angles!!! KEEP HD_DVD ALIVE!!!!!!
Man if your a film buff like me, all this did was allow you to edit the last crash scene on your own if you know how to capture the footage. This another to my collection of HD-DVD. KEEP IT ALIVE!!! Do we remember the last car movie prior to the FF franchise, hmm, Bullet? This was a great start to a still living production. "Fast Five " Coming soon with Dwayne "The RocK" Johnson as a FBI agent trying to stop Dom , and his mischief's. BUY IT!! Do you have a XBOX 360, do you have the HD-DVD player, do you have a HDTV? Ebay is the cheapest place to fill you HD-DVD adrenaline. Why pay $35 from Sony for a BAD BD of this movie!!!! Sure, the plot is beside the point, but with eye candy like this, who cares? Universal has produced a stunner of an HD DVD release for 'The Fast and the Furious.' High-quality video, a top-notch soundtrack and plenty of extras make this a clear winner for the format. If only there was a Dolby TrueHD track and better exclusive HD content, this would have been four stars across the board. As is, 'The Fast and the Furious' is great demo material, and a disc you have to watch at least once to see what your HD DVD home theater rig is truly capable of.Sure, the plot is beside the point, but with eye candy like this, who cares?
