DOes what you'd expect it to.
I can't comment about how reliable it is yet as I've only just got it. It basically does exactly what you'd expect it to. The one thing I don't really understand is the benefit of a metal lined hose when the instructions specifically say (several times) do not hoover ash when hot or warm.

I bought one of these in feb 2017 and had it exchanged as sparks were coming from the motor and it was switching itself on and off, the company exchanged it without problem but now after just over a year the motor again hit me with a shower of sparks. As it is now out of warranty I had a look. The positive cables going into the motor were touching its metal frame causing a short, I presume this is what was wrong with the first one. The insulation was very thin and had just cut through with the normal vibration of the machine. It is not repairable as the windings inside the motor have melted. Spend a bit more on a better quality unit. Pretty Good for the money
Plus points: Good auction, very robust, good size. Negatives: short hose, cuts out after about 5 minutes and needs quite a long time to cool down.

A filter that doesn't block withing a few minutes would improve the performance of the ash vac. I think I might have selected the wrong one. Disappointed.
