    Pond heater review

    Good cost effective unit. Operating line current is 9.87 Amps in this one. I generally get several years of use from these units. I always seal the bottom lip and top cover seam to prevent water from leaking into the unit and shorting it out it over time and also seal the power cord connection going into the bottom of the unit for the same reason. I also spray paint the aluminum heat sink to prevent electrolysis and corrosion. After winter is over the units are removed from the pond, cleaned and stored for the next season. I've found these to be more reliable than the units with the wire heating elements.

    Very good quality, last a long time.

    I've used this model before and the old one has lasted several years so far. It started out in my koi pond and now heats my Canada gooses water. I clean off the mineral buildup before I put it away for the winter each year in some vinegar. I bought this new one for the goose Pond. They love swimming all winter.
