    Holds up a lot better than space:1999

    While I would classify the show as B+ Sci-Fi, it actually holds up surprisingly well. You do have to ignore the CGI limitations of the era (rendered on an Amiga cluster in the early 90's after all, cutting edge for the time) and also it should be noted that they also did the best space combat depiction up to that point. The acting is reasonably good if not stellar, and the script arc was also the rarest of birds, a complete 5 year arc. Given the limitations of the time, production was excellent. When I rewatched Space:1999, I was stunned by the horrifically bad writing which had escaped me when I was 6, thankfully not a issue for this series.

    Excellent Almost Complete Collection

    Obviously, the Babylon 5 universe gets 5 stars, and if you love B5, this is the best deal you can get. Unfortunately, Warner Brothers doesn't care about B5 or its fans, so they didn't bother to clean up the dirty, scratchy film before transfer. Thus, the video quality is not at all what it should be. Additionally, this says it's the complete collection, but for some reason doesn't include the movie The Legend of the Rangers, and is also missing the Lost Tales dvd. Still, beggars can't be choosers, and considering that B5 will never be on blu-ray and most likely will never get a better treatment than this, I say go for it. EDIT 11/26/2020: It seems that someone (but no one seems to know who) has been remastering the series and putting the episodes up on iTunes and possibly other platforms, ...

    B5 is the best sci-fi series to ever air on broadcast TV

    Great show! One of the original series with a story arc from season1 to season 5. Thoroughly enjoyed watching B5, graphics look great for a series produced from 1994 to 1997. Unfortunately because it was originally broadcast on PTEN network, many people have missed seeing this classic sci-fi series Missing from collection are: Legend of the Rangers Lost Tales of B5

    Amazing story and great acting

    Aside from the comments section pro n cons... Got this in brand new packaging in a very short time... Like most of my DVD sets.. Yeah.. The cases are thin plastic unlike the old days... But complete set has been so hard to find I had to... WELL WORTH IT... My husband had never seen the show and got mad at me for watching a couple of eps without him... Definatly recommend watching in JMS order per B5. Com...

    Entertaining, great characters and story lines.

    Babylon 5 is a great story and its wonderful to be able to watch it again on DVD, however, the quality of the DVD itself is lacking. I do not know if this is because of the era but this is most definitely a primitive reproduction. Scenes are sometimes fuzzy and the special effects are unclear. Its almost like watching a home copy from Television on VHS super long play. Again, I will say, the story and characters make up for the poor production of this DVD.
