The plastic is new but also noticeably lighter material. I went a step further and bought a case for the new fob just to keep it looking brand new always. Great buy, easy swap. Comes with the Mazda logo :D

Not sure how long it will hold up to drops and normal wear and tear but it's a lot better than buying a new fob. Only thing that is "off" is the finish of the black/gray plastic. The texture difference is noticeable only if you're looking for it. Installation of the old fob guts was tooless and easy.
