    Probably the best sprue-cutter you can buy

    I've tried them all: Testor's Model Master cutter (good), Xuron's sprue cutter (better), various dental tools and side cutters. All will do the job, but this Tamiya cutter is distinctly superior to all others. It's the only tool I've found that will let you cut very close to a part without damaging it. It cuts very cleanly through the sprue gate, and doesn't pinch or crush the gate or pull plastic from the gate's connection at the part, leaving a pit to be filled later. It even works well on brittle clear styrene parts. Mine has proven to be very durable in more than four years of use, with no chips or nicks in the blade and no evident loss of sharpness or cutting power. I liked it so much a bought a couple more as spares, in case the first one is damaged or wears out. That might ...
