I have purchased them for my friends as gifts and everyone is happy with them. They are best used with an open-hand grip, but small hands can still use a hammer-fist style grip. These forks have a solid full metal frame. If you want to use round bands (tubes) they can be adapted to fit using a piece of leather and constricting the tube to the leather and putting the leather into the pinch of the fork.
