About this product

Product Information

It is the year 2070, and the crime rate has been reduced to next-to-nothing. Meanwhile, big corporations perpetrate diabolical crimes and go unpunished, and androids mingle freely among humans. Detective David Hume (Easton) is assigned to investigate the murders of his partner and several researchers from the Rekall Corporation, the virtual reality vacation agency. Hume discovers that the planet is in danger and must battle rogue androids while learning the strange truth about himself. Sharp writing and some R-rated action make this Showtime original production worthwhile. Based on the writings of Philip K. Dick.

I occasionally caught individual episodes of the series and when I found this on ebay I decided to give it a try. The setting is good. The idea comes from the movie but this takes a different direction, focusing more on futuristic crime solving with human and robot police officers working together. The interaction causes some of the conflict in the show. Overall the plot moves a bit too slowly but for anyone interested in negative visions of the future will like this movie.
