Needed to replace surround speakers due to lack of space the T40 II set were perfect for my requirements. Great looking speakers with neat and accessible audio controls. The removable grille covers are a nice idea for those who prefer that stripped back look. If you need to downsize but want decent sound from your desktop setup then these really are an excellent alternative.

90 notes worth of crap sound, i have had sound Blaster stuff for years last lot lasted 10 years, i can not see me having these 10 days..the sound is utter rubbish, and no adjustment seems to make it any better. i would not recommend them.

Fantastic sound great finish,it is hard to believe how good these sound with tight controlled bass with amazing sound separation between vocals and instruments, the best I've heard by a mile at a very affordable price, highly recommended. The only thing I changed was the 3.5mm Jack lead for a good quality UGreen cable, but they sound good with the cable out of the Creative box.

I have used two makes of speakers for my desktop computer over past years, but neither was that great. One pair was tinny sounding, whilst the other pair became hot after being on for a few hours. I do a lot of work on recordings in my home studio and these T40 computer speakers are the first that I have really been satisfied with at a realistic price. A very pleased customer!

Creative t40 series II - These speakers have potential of sounding pretty good if you do the following: 1, Add a 2cm wall of insulation material inside the speaker (around all the edges) as without this they sound boxy 2, Make sure the drivers themselves are sealed to the cabinets and screwed down properly (mine werent and had air leaks) causing sound problems 3, remove the fixed output lead from the left speaker and fit a phono socket (after doing this use a black silicone to seal any air leaks) now you can use your own quality speaker cable, instead of the terrible supplied line level cable. 4, replace the speaker cable in the right speaker to match the left one 5, fit a 460 µF 25v non polarized capacitor to each speaker to kill distortion and bass below 50hz which these drivers cannot handle (1 in the left speaker and one in the right) In series with the driver 6, gently blow down the top port after reassembling to make sure there are no air leaks, there should be none. The speakers are not subwoofers, theyre designed to be used with one, the bass port is not for sub bass, its for midbass (from 50Hz upwards) after doing the above modifications, the speakers will sound twice as good and will not distort past halfway on the volume dial. Strengths, very good midbass output, and decent build quality, highs sparkle without sounding over done. weaknesses, these speakers will sound boxy without internal dampening material, and the bass ports could have been tuned a bit better. these speakers sound harsh at 150Hz therefore it is an absolute must to fit speaker dampening material to the sides internally (glue it on) its harsh in this region of 150Hz because the sound inside is bouncing all over the place causing resonance to the shell. lifewire dot com/desktop-computer-speaker-systems-3134570 Fixing these problems would have cost creative next to nothing, they are getting lazy with speakers lately, their i-trigue line being the best ive heard, the i-trigue L3800 are the ones to go for, a simple install of dampening material in its subwoofer cures all its problems, its satellites sound absolutely beautiful and are very dynamic with a huge soundstage as they are bi-amped. Please take note in everything i've said if you are looking to buy these t40 speakers, makes no difference if theyre the series1 or series2 they're both electrically identical.Read full review
