Taking the role of one of four family members, players seek angler immortality by catching the legendary and elusive big fish known as "the River King." Of course, there's also much to do between trips to the waterside, such as collecting rare items, trading for better equipment at shops, and making new friends. While the publisher's Harvest Moon companion series gained popularity with multiple releases throughout the 128-bit generation, A Wonderful Journey is the first River King game produced for North American PS2s.

A Game for 'Older' Children!
In ordering a Playstation2 for Christmas, I ordered games from e-bay. The game came well packaged and protected - no scratches, excellent condition. The biggest surprise was, in ordering the game for my grandsons, their 30-something year old mother who was entranced with it. "River King (A Wonderful Journey)" was a big hit for the younger boys, too. The game is not 'fast', 'violent', or 'bloody'...it is a 'gentle' game that can give hours of entertainment. So, the boys' mom had to give breaks for the others to play and enjoy. PS2 River King a wonderful journey
It was a different type of rpg style for me since it was alot of fishing involved but it makes it fun, I have just got into the game bout 20 hrs and have enjoyed the story and the game play that it has offered to this point.
