    Black Sails: The Complete Collection (Blu-ray)

    Black Sails is an outstanding show and the blu-ray collection is a perfect way to own the whole series. The picture quality is beautiful on every disc with deep blacks, bright colors and rich textures. The 7.1 surround sound is topnotch and I was thrilled that it was produced with such excellent audio quality for every season. In my research before purchase I was concerned with playback issues on some discs within the series. I'm happy to say that I experienced no playback issues at all on any discs in my boxset. Black Sails on blu-ray is one of the best series I've enjoyed since the format was invented and my only regret is it didn't last longer. FIVE STARS

    Captain Flint and Long John Silver

    Historical fictionalized series about the pirates in the early 18th century Caribbean. A prequel to Treasure Island involving the rise of Long John Silver and his time with Captain Flint. There is a lot of political drama and swashbuckling. Not a series for children due to pirates doing all their pirate-y things.

    Historically, nothing ever changes

    I love period movies and series that portray actual events mingled with the fictional parts. This series has it all (most especially the pirates). It keeps me interested from the first scene of the episodes to the last with all the adventures and intrigue that takes place as the wealthy get wealthier, the poor become more downtrodden with a few that become as ruthless as the wealthy in order to become rich fast. Then the pirates that take what they want.
